Warmth

by herewithme   Sep 3, 2006

The warmth of a new day
A brand new light
Move on from the argument
From the misunderstanding night

A gentle, cold breeze flows on by
Whips your hair and ruffles your clothes
And almost makes you feel
As if you're not alone

Like the wind itself offers a hug
The kindest of gestures
The secret of love
Floats away your hidden pressures

The sun does not judge you
Nor does it care
It will provide warmth
Even when you're not there

If you had the choice
Would you give up your love,
Or give up your voice
To make everyone happy
But leave yourself behind?

Do you think they would notice
That your soul is long gone?
And all that's left is a shell
That's been hidden in the night
That you've been kept in this cell
And been stowed from the light

Hidden from the sun
Hidden from the breeze
But it cannot be undone
And you cannot be freed.

You will be held in the night
Until eternity ends
Without any sight
The cold, your only friend

The poets' words are not in vain
They are to guide you through
To help you win this selfish game
And to teach you to be true
