Summer

by Heather   Sep 3, 2006

The rain falls dark onto my faded window,
The lightning strikes, fearing the ground below.
Memories race through my mind,
Of shattered dreams and lost hopes.
I loved you, I lost you,
Forever, will I, be in your trap.
Your bind against my soul,
For your to keep, to abuse.
Emotions run thick through my heart,
As your spirit haunts me.
Memories, so many lost,
Memories, forever gone, not to come back.
But, as I tell you now,
Its hard to let the feelings go.
Time, they say will kill my pain,
But forever, forever, the summer may never fade.
The long, beloved summer, you prayed to come,
The summer, the love, you threw away.
So many nights, talking for hours,
A lie.
Many lies.
Forever the lies will pour,
Six months, gone in a second.
You say I'm unfaithful, well take a look,
I loved you, you lied to say you did back.
My heart is in two, as the week dwindles down,
I'm supposed to be with you right now.
But that, my love, my friend,
Is what you gave away, till the end.
Never, will you get your sweet love back,
Never will you look back, and say you tried.
I love you.
You knew.
Now my heart is torn in two,
I think of you.
The tears fall gently onto the hidden curves on my face,
My stomach sinks inside my chest.
Forever and never will we be together,
Forever will you have my heart, but never will you love me.
Time rolls by, and fades away,
But never forget, the love you had.
I loved you.
Never forget the pain you had brought,
Never forget the memories you have lost.
Hours, for hours, of talking and fun,
Now its a memory, faded and gone.
Memories haunt, but the time washes them,
Softly into the river, of the emotion and pain.
Goodbye, sweet love, for now I must leave,
Remember in your heart, not to think of me.
