Crimson Regret

Dedicated to all who self-injure and all those in pain. You are not alone.

Have you ever had so much pain
That life just wasn't worth it?
Have you ever had so much mental pain
That you cut into your flesh to relieve the pain?
Have you ever woken up
To blood stained sheets and a rusty razor?
Have you ever worn long sleeves and a mask
To hide your mental anguish?

No one understands me
They don't see my pain
They see the scars
And see an attention-seeking girl
They don't hear my silent screams
Or my crimson regret
They don't understand me

Have you ever hid behind a mask
Terrified of yourself?
Have you ever loaded up on pills
To make yourself feel better?
Have you ever cut and later come to find
You're stuck with an ugly scab and nothing more?
Have you ever carved crosses into your skin
To find salvation?

They don't understand
People like me
They don't see our cry for help
Written in our skin
They don't hear our souls cry for the end
As we cut the pain away
They just see us for what we are
Cutters

Have you ever been judged and ridiculed?
Have you ever been betrayed or marked as a fool?
Have you ever retreated into yourself to hide?
Have you ever been unaccepted by society?
Have you ever had no compassion from the world?
Have you ever been tormented and decieved by the world?
Have you ever had the truth and lies jumbled up inside?
Have you ever been unable to trust yourself?

They see us as depressed kids
Who belong in psych wards
They don't understand us
They don't even try
They just judge us
And believe their own lies
They just see us for what we are
Cutters
