African Dance

by val   Sep 6, 2006

The rain is an African dance.
It leaps and jumps,
Distorts its body
And screams past the trees.
Bounding about.
Beating on the ground as the sky gets heavier.
Twirling in circles,
Swaying its hips,
Stretching out on the ground.
Slowly calming to a patter on the dirt,
Calming to a sprinkle and
A break in the clouds
When the dance stops.
