What happens at war

by emma   Sep 6, 2006

As they limp tired and dirty
excited about seeing old faces
waiting to bath in fresh clean water
they walk down the lane

they suffered bad injuries
headaches shots and all
they lean on each other
for the support and upright walks

"watch out were being gassed out"

they scatter and they hurry
to reach for their masks
one forgets and reaches for death
he coughs and he shouts
but no man hears his cries

i toss and i turn as i see him at night
slowly he stops never to return

i walk behind the dust drawn cart
he looks at me as if alive
but i know he has gone
his skin as white as snow

war is not good innocent people die so don't say its good unless your willing to die
