The Aftermath

As you sit here in confusion, thinking that this may be another illusion
Reminiscing on these past years, cant help but count all your fears
You're feeling so guilty because your reputation is so filthy
beyond words is exactly what your feeling, just don't know what its gonna take for u to be healing
And you know exactly what it feels like to be ashamed but wish that you'd be the last to be blamed
I'm gonna tell you a story of my own, not that I'm really all that grown
I really have much more time to live, and I'm so happy to still be alive
I can surely relate to your sorrow, the way you wish there'd be no tomorrow
how all you really want is to be happy, but everything turns out so crappy
You put your faith in just one thing, but sadness is all it can bring
Wonder exactly where it is that you took the wrong turn, but all you're ready to do is return.

Return to your old self, leave the past on this old dusty shelf
It sure would be nice to hear someone tell you it'll be okay, and that its all gonna go day-by-day
but I'm telling you from my experience because I don't wanna see another soul have its absence
Listen to that whisper deep in you, because its you-know-who
That trusting holy spirit, nothing more from the culprit
It knows right from wrong, and its been there all along
All you have to do is turn your back on the devil, and stay off of his level
He'll only lead you deeper in this depression,
So please, learn from this lesson
Stay on the right path and you'll be satisfied with the aftermath
