Trail of Tears

by ~*~Die Romantic~*~   Sep 8, 2006

Family voices
Haunting past
Having no choices
I hope that wont last.

Fighting for relief
Losing all we had
So many chiefs
getting so mad.

Moving from their home
across the country
They were not alone
To some they were sorry.

To be damned as they were
Losing everything they had
parting from their family's
I'm glad I wasn't one of them

Just knowing my ancestors were part of that
I bow my head
I shall remove my hat
And give thanks to the ones who fought for what they had.

~In loving memory of the many Native Americans who died on The Trail Of Tears~
