Real Friends

by Nici   Sep 8, 2006

I found out who my real friends are
I will not mention their names
They couldnt accept the fact that
I am allowed to change

From the person I was to the person I am
I wore yellow nail varnish to school and BAM!
I was an outcast, an individual peep
I will not be the shepherd who stands by the sheep!

Theyll have to find another flock
Cos Im counting the minutes on my body clock
I wont let them wasnt my time
I wont be the singer whos forced to mine
And Ive changed!

From the person I was to the person I am
I wore yellow nail varnish to school and BAM!
I was an outcast, an individual peep
I will not be the shepherd who stands by the sheep!

Id rather be unique
Than the clone I was forced to be
So now I go my way, they go theirs
Theyre like peas in a pod, but I dont care
Cos Ive changed!

From the person I was to the person I am
I wore yellow nail varnish to school and BAM!
I was an outcast, an individual peep
I will not be the shepherd who stands by the sheep!

They think theyve got a bond
But will they still be there for each other
When the friendship starts to tear?
Ive changed!
For the better!

From the person I was to the person I am
I wore yellow nail varnish to school and BAM!
I was an outcast, an individual peep
I will not be the shepherd who stands by the sheep!

Ive found new friends, kept some old
But now Im free I wont be cold
As were watching their repetitive lives unfold

Theyre chewing on gossip and making enemies
While I can be warm and friendly to the company I keep
Im having fun with different peeps
While some poor shepherd freezes standing by the sheep
And Ive changed!
