Morning Rain

by EpithetPoet   Sep 12, 2006

The morning rain never sounded so strange
like the sun and the moon entwined
and even though i love when you whisper so
you will never be as refined

skip a moment and get lost with me
far off the beaten path, we'll lay
we'll laugh till the morning dawns
but after dawn breaks a new day

you'll never stay because i know you well
I'm here so thus you receive
but your heart flies with many and never one
for that, it's impossible to conceive

I'll cherish you now but not give you my heart
because the elements hold on too tight
but for once my dear we'll be just friends
and adhere to what my mind deems right
