KATRINA

Katrina
You came like theft in the night
rapture child form mother arms
tears of pain flooded
the city
Red bright X on doors and
roofs are temporary tombstones
It has went from
not having a home
to not having a town
to not having a city
to not having a state
to not having a country
to being refugees
in less than 5 days
S.O.S
save our soul
what soul left if you have taken
our stripes along with
our taxes and you delay
our salvation
The unique mind God has design
was not created with misery
in sight
we unable to live without our
loved ones
unprepared to see live less
bodies flowing freely with currents
you have revolted
Not only the souls trapped
are the ones that bleed
the nation stand still
watching and hearing
your pain unfolded
for what the media is allowed
to show in their "accounts"
The president has been missing
we have no real leader
we are better off that way
as gas prices soar
and become scarce
his pocket swells
we stand by with arms tied
griping our souls
We the nation
reach out and touch our
televisions and transmit
what frequency our
sorrow allows
What real different is there between
these two storms
Katrina a natural storms
and our shameless man made storm
