Forsaken

by Kevin Fitz   Sep 13, 2006

The air is stale and I vomit my thoughts
that all form misconceptions
of who I think I want You to be
but it turns out You're just the enemy

hope..why have you forsaken me?

why clip off my wings when I dare dream of flying
why leave me to live when I dare dream of dying

defiled by words that are dead
dehumanized by the human race
tormented by the road ahead
just let me die in my disgrace

God, damn me for ever thinking You'd abandon me
damn my thoughts for forming lies of who You are
and just how deep Your love can go
because deep inside I know
it goes far beyond the grave

defiled by words that are dead
dehumanized by the human race
tormented by the road ahead
You shouldn't have died for my disgrace
and took my place upon a god forsaken tree
for us all, for my transgressions, for me

damn my thoughts for forming lies of who You are
and just how deep Your love for us all goes
because deep inside I know
it goes far beyond the grave.
