The Abandoned Church

by Matt   Sep 14, 2006

This church used to be holy,
and full of joy with a small amount of sin.
Now it is empty and abandoned
You wouldn't want to go in.

You used to go to it every week
and sing to it's praise.
It was your place of worship
through sun or in haze.

But you don't go there anymore
you left it that day.
It's dark and dreary without you there
but it'll be fine as long as your okay.

The pews don't stand tall anymore,
they all drop their heads down.
Cause in that church was your king,
but you broke his crown.

Why would you just leave
when you knew he needed you,
But he knew you'd come back
just like you always do.

But next time,
he won't be there anymore,
cause that old church
can't take anymore wear.
