Light in the Dark

by Flying Phoenix   Sep 17, 2006

Heavy the dark falls down
Light blotted out like a screen
Here cold and alone I wait
My mind forming pictures
Imagination of the night
Not fear of my loss of sight
But dread of what is there
As I remain alone, unaware
Worried by my thoughts
My twisted creatures created
Walking in the shadows
Chills me softly
Frozen to my bone
Here in the darkness
All alone

Then in my heart
I can feel the day
All from a glimpse
Of you this way
Walking alone, fearless and proud
Vanishes my doubts
As you speak out loud
Greetings exchanged and I'm warmed again
Thank you for this comfort
This fulfilling spark
Thank your for your light
Your light in my dark
