His Promise

(This is a sequal to Pain's promise. Before you read this please go to my profile and read Before the Promise & Pain's Promise first. They all are three pretty long poems but I spent a lot of time on them so plz read all three and comment and vote!!)

He watched his new girl sleep.
The most gorgeous girl he'd ever seen.
Even prettier than this last girl,
Who was their highschool's queen.
Thinking of her made him remember,
The promise she had made.
But there's no way in Hell she'd really do it.
"Oh PLEASE! God!," He prayed.
She hadn't been at school that day.
Probably just something like the flu.
But he had a horrible feeling,
That wasn't really true.
Suddenly he realized he was crying.
His face was wet with tears.
He missed her so much.
They'd been together for so many years.
He'd broken it off months ago,
When he'd met this new girl.
Now he had no clue why he'd done it.
She had meant the world.
He looked at his new girlfriend again.
The sight wasn't at all as sweet as before.
She was the reason he'd betrayed the girl,
That he used to so much adore.
Now he finally realized,
He had been so wrong.
He had always denied the fact,
His feelings were still so strong.
But he knew now he'd made a mistake.
He wanted her back in his arms.
Giving her that life he'd promised,
Totally free of harm.
She'd been heartbroken when he'd done it.
She had cried and cried for days.
Now the truth hit him,
Live a hundred stabbing blades.
He left his new girl a note.
He kissed her one last goodbye.
When she awoke she'd find the note,
That'd tell her of the one love he couldn't deny.
He drove to his old girls house.
Wanting nothing more than to hold her all night.
But when he got to her house,
He wasn't ready for the sight.
He ran right through the police tape.
He ignored her parent's blaming eyes.
He bolted down the stairs,
And couldn't believe his eyes.
She lay in a puddle of blood.
Her hand clenching a gun.
A note lay beside her,
Telling why this had been done.
Her parents were screaming at him,
Saying he was to blame.
The hate in their eyes,
Burned more than any flame.
It wasn't until the funeral,
That they believed he really cared.
He opened the casket and kissed her lips,
Thinking of all the times they'd shared.
He said,

"Now that you are gone,
I can only offer you one thing.
I promise you my life.
A life lived full of pain.
I promise you a life,
From which guilt I cannot hide.
A life so much worse than death.
My living suicide.
I'll live a long life of misery.
But all the regret may cause me to fall.
For a life without you in my arms,
Is a life not lived at all."
