The CALL

by Poison Ivy   Sep 20, 2006

When you called,
I suddenly became weak,
Everything just blew out of my mind,
I could hardly even speak,

Breathing in deeply,
Trying to calm down,
Just hearing your voice again,
Made me want to break down,

I wanted to be strong,
I needed to tell you how,
You screwed things up,
When they told me what came out of your mouth,

You joked around about my love,
You said,"I was just a fling",
I wasn't anything serious,
That in your life I would never be anything,

I wanted to tell you off,
I wanted to tell you "to go get lost",
But my heart wouldn't let me,
Because it didn't want you to hang up,

All I wanted was for you to own up to your words,
Tell me why you said them even if it hurt,
So it would clear the doubts from my mind,
And give me enough strength to say "goodbye".
