This world is cold and dark
in the shadows secrets hide
so much pain and anger
so many tears and lies

soldiers fighting in the war
shooting each other with their guns
children cry themselves to sleep
they've forgotten how to have fun

husbands leave theirs wives
parents walk out on their kids
people turn to drugs and booze
to erase the things they did

people are losing loved ones
to the many faces of death
earth is taken for granted
we taste the pollution with each breath

some are starving in the streets
while others live in fear
some have just given up
they've lost all that they hold dear

everyone cries out in pain
for many different reasons
soon everyone will be gone
like the ever changing seasons
