Getting Over It

by Max De los Santos   Sep 22, 2006

Battles were fought through words
Truce was made after

Confused emotion asked
Why deny the inevitable?

So I staked a blade in my chest
and said goodbye to you

And as the pendulum swings,
together, the bleeding will stop

But the curse of pain still lingers
screaming your lovely name

Like a moon that never sets
the thorn that binds me will remain

Leaves falling down the tree
hoping to find the remedy

Until then, I pray to the speechless bird
please guide me there
