The Fat Lady Always Sings.

by Brooke Amity   Sep 23, 2006

On the sidewalk,
In the street,
Traffic at a standstill,
Two lovers stop and meet.

Little do they know,
That their time is over.
As the wind messes her hair,
And he wraps his arm around her.

Even if they were forewarned,
It would not prevent their pain.
They would still say hurtful words,
And have the arguments that were in vain.

If love was all it took,
To keep a relationship alive.
These two would still be together,
Moving with passion, depth and drive.

But sometimes life gets in the way,
And makes a mess of things.
You and I can try to stop her,
But the fat lady always sings.

Very good write! It's so sad that people let petty arguments get in the way, but it seems more and more that that's the way it goes. Nice job expressing it! Jpoet*

Another beautfiul lovely poem you penned here...it's simply but beautiful written... For who of they can know life's road, Or where the journey's end may be, For hope may bring her love replete Then the song you'll hear will be sung by her. lol.. have a great day, take care!
