My Friend

Everything is different now
I cant explain when or how
I\'ve lost you and you\'ve lost me
It\'s all part of life\'s mystery

you grow together and then you grow old
you grow apart and your friendship folds
we can look at the past, but its still gone
we try and try but cant hold on

I dreamed of the love that never died
the kind that awed and mystified
the bond that everyone could sense
we looked to the future with suspense
but now the future has torn us apart
and not just us, itâ??s torn my heart

weâ??ve all made mistakes, what can I say?
Things canâ??t get better in a day
I miss you, I love you, how did we go wrong?
The tears are coming so I try to stay strong
if you knew how I felt, what would you say?
Would you say we could be close again someday?
And if you did, would we ever be?

I miss the closeness, the smiles and laughs
even all of our silly photographs
looking back on them now I see that theyâ??re stained
with so many tears that it looks like itâ??s rained
all over the memories, the smiles and laughs
I want to jump back into those photographs
hug you again, call you my best friend
is this something we can ever mend?
