Temptation

by Katie   Sep 25, 2006

She looks into the mirror
Dark hazel eyes staring back
Tears streaming down
What happened to her life?
No turning back now..
And suddenly her mood fits her eyes
Cold, dark, and deep
She closes them
Seeing only ocean
Heavy clouds in the distance
Slowly walking toward them
They begin to take form
So peaceful, so calm
She wants to be like them
All of them
She's so happy here
She can't leave
Is this finally the end?
Where all is gone for good?
She opens her eyes
Only a dream
She stares back at herself
She hates it
She hates her
Slowly lifting her fist
She takes a swing at the mirror
Smashing every piece of her memory on the floor
She's gone

Golly, I loved it. The middle part kind of threw me off, I don't know why but it did but then you pulled me right back in with the ending. It was very powerful and I loved the conception that you used of her being her own worst enemy type thing. I love it.
