The Story Of A Secret

by Anthony   Sep 27, 2006

I met you as a friend,
The year i was on my own.
You helped to fill a void,
While I felt so all alone.

You told me about yourself,
And I told you about me.
But there was something more about you,
Something I just couldn't see.

Then I stared feeling
Something new inside my heart.
Something I'm not sure i regret,
But wish that i had never start.

I saw you in a new way,
A way that had me scared.
A way that made me happy,
But I was just so unprepared.

The first crush of its kind
To hit deep down inside.
But if you ever asked me,
I most certainly would have lied.

For who could admit
That they feel something for a friend?
Because for sure that declaration
Would mean the friendships end.

So I gave my secret life,
I let it live way down inside.
Pretty soon it was a part of me,
And soon gave support to selfish pride.

The months went by and soon
This secret had grown out of hand.
And I tried my hardest not to,
But did something so unplanned.

I keep hoping to wake up
Like what i did was never real.
Because I killed my secret
The day I told you how i feel.

Now I guess I'm lost
Because I don't know what to do.
The truth is, when I killed my secret,
I killed a part of myself too.
