The morning buzzes with the silence of nothing
As hundreds lie waiting for the time to do something
Whether for school or for work,
Or for a day full of play,
People are waiting for the start of the day
Wishing under the covers they could just disappear
And leave behind a world full of sorrow and fear
Or bighting their nails
In sweet anticipation
People are waiting all over the nation
While the single mom stresses how to pay her due bills
Or a troubled teen pretends to fly over the rolling hills
Casey falls off her bike
And scratches her knee,
They all wish that god would hear their plea
We try to act tough, and bite back our tears
Building up grief over thousands of years
People all wish
That theyre something their not
And pray life was just a little less tough
So just for right now, letâ??s take off our masks
And forget about all of our troublesome tasks
And just lie peacefully
Until the sun peaks
Over the horizon and lights up the streets
