Day By Day

by Daz Mellow   Oct 1, 2006

Day by day I look out the window.
Hoping you would come back.
Even though I know you couldnâ??t.
You left me and mom before I was born.
After you gave her a ruby heart necklace sheâ??d always adorn.
I knew you didnâ??t leave us on purpose because you left this world altogether.
Not a day goes by when I donâ??t wish you could be with us again, if itâ??s only for a short time.
Not a night goes by when I donâ??t hear Mom cry herself to sleep.
Itâ??s so hard to miss you everyday Dad, because I donâ??t know what to miss.
Iâ??ve never felt the warm embrace.
Iâ??ve never felt the love that a Father can give his daughter.
Iâ??ve never saw the lights in your eyes when I was born.
Iâ??ve never felt the way it feels to have a father.
But Iâ??ve always felt your love from heaven.
Day by day I drown in sorrow.
Looking out to tomorrow.
