Letter from an Angel

by Raydeen   Oct 1, 2006

She held a pen,
and out of it flowed jet black ink,
it never stopped moving,
she never paused to think.

"good bye my love,
I'm sorry I can't stay here,
you'll always be in my heart"
then dropped a tear.

it hit the paper,
a splatter of ink,
her breath sucked in.
What would he think?

he wasn't supposed to know it hurt her,
but she truly needed to go,
she was hurting him to,
but she would take it blow by blow.

"I wanted us to grow old together,
for my lips to be forever yours,
but you will always have my heart I love you so."
she went to the desk, and closed the drawers.

he found the letter,
but my god why did she go,
he had no idea,
and I guess he would never know.

turned on the television,
grabbed the alcohol,
started to drink himself to sleep.
news flash: girl dies ; he blinks, did he see her stall?

this couldn't be.
tears fall upon a letter,
oh god, not now.
this won't make anything better.

he glances up,
to find a girl with long flowing black hair,
deep dark beloved eyes,
an angel standing above him,
his heart dies.
