Elegy of Elegance

by Shane   Oct 1, 2006

Those words you said
They held my tongue
The story had ended
Before it begun
I was too late
Courtship's a lost art
It doesn't take time
To win a heart
My ways are vestigial
I lost this time
Taken, prosecuted
Naivety my crime
My sentence?
Never to tell
My words, with me
My personal hell
Now the time that passes so fast
Remains static in my face
Cursed to see those lips
I will never taste
Or that hand
I will never hold
Your feelings
Packed off and sold
To the highest bidder,
Or whoever came first
I'll never quench
This insatiable thirst
The words I've purged my heart to write
Bid my paper bleed
The only pain in my head
Is the echo, Proceed
