Dying Season

by Kevin Fitz   Oct 2, 2006

Dying Season

free us, the slaves
finding comfort in our graves
with no shelter in the dark
for the journey we embark

committing treason
(we're already dead)

our hearts are beckoning
but this is a reckoning
so stand atop the sea of bodies
to form lies that the truth embodies

it's dying season
(we're already dead)

burn us this day, we're already dead
and lead us straight into damnation
hide our paths from which we tread
deliver us not from our broken nation

lying in the eyes of god
dying in the arms of god.
