The voice of Reason

by Bethan   Oct 2, 2006

You hear a whisper,
Upon the breeze,
It floated amongst,
and through the trees,

A rasping, eerie,
kind of voice,
Demanding attention,
You have no choice,

But to listen,
To its sorrowful tale,
Hear it moan,
and whine and wail,

You must contend,
with its nagging tone,
And with its advice,,
For which it's known

You have to suffer,
It's constant complaints,
It's self-righteous beliefs,
with which it paints,

It'll never leave,
It takes over your mind,
Wherever you go,
It's not far behind,

It'll alwys be there,
To guide you along,
Because your conscience,
Is never wrong,

Loved the ending. Loved how you showed your conscience is always there and always what you should listen to. Great job! Jpoet*

Well thanks. You've sure made my poems look like crap now. Oh well, never mind. I can't say I care that much anyway. Well done love. Great poem, as usual.
