Thoughts of an 'early' morning riser

by Leslie   Oct 3, 2006

I love midnight.

not for partying or watching late night television or sneaking out of my room for snacks

i love it for the silence.

its the time right before early morning, right before you feel this unbelievable quiet that settles over you as the clock ticks by 1 hour to two hours to three.....

midnight is like a car wreck

you can imagine a car careening off a bridge or grating into a side rail.

the smell of burning gasoline explosions within a newly crunched up engine sailing into the night with the wail of the ambulence coming to the rescue......

midnight is like diving

the nerves you feel, the exitment mixed with fear . the pulsing energy and second thoughts before the hightened plunge. you can practically hear the music crecendo right before you hit and sink into the watery depths of silence to pause before you return to the surface.........

midnight is my lonliest hour

with out the silence, without the rush, without anything.
but the fire of my soul still burns alive, even in the darkest quietest places...
