Shine For Me Child

by AshLetitia   Oct 3, 2006

Melodic laughter relieves a blackened soul,
Unpretentious fingers fascinate clichèd critics,
Eyes melting the coldest of stone hearts,
Falling for the child with a diamond smile.
Pure intentions, occasionally chaotic,
My child, so untainted, innocence overflowing.
Unequivocal affection I feel for thee,
Soft fear for your extraordinarily fragile form,
Protective nature apparent to all,
Rescue you from inevitable throe,
Shielding the world from your musing eyes,
My Saviour. My child.
Companionship never compromised,
I prevail exclusively for you,
Shine for me, little one,
For I love thee unceasingly.

I know I do not have a child of my own, but I do know what it is like to care for a child, to experience all the emotions that come with having a small child. Someday I will have my own children. Patience.
