Portrait of a lady

by Tine   Oct 4, 2006

This is the portrait of a lady
a lady that I didn't know
I imagine her as in a picture
with her skin as white as snow
she's gracious all the way
she's fantastic every day
to do that she manages somehow
people do look up to her
and make her loved ones very proud
for knowing her much better
than most people in the croud
and to my regret I admit that
I never got any closer to the lady
than the people who say out loud
how great she really is
she's a bit perfect maybe
because her family can't miss
her anymore, she does so much for them
with her eyes sparkling like a gem
she speaks with so much love and feeling
that the atmosphere's filled on to the ceiling
of the warmth, love and caress
she can make people smile with less
so one night this
lady that I didn't know
with her skin as white as snow
kisses her son upon his cheek
before he goes to bed
This was my portrait of a lady
the lady who died just last week
and still makes me sad...
