Eternity

by ebonyeyes   Oct 7, 2006

As I sit in an endless field of yellow and gold
I look to the murky clouds above me
And let tears from the sky fall upon my face
An eternity of grief and bliss plays before my eyes
The cool breeze is an arm around my shoulder
Protecting me and calming me
Morning dew lies across the grass
Dampening denim
I hear children playing in the field
Screaming
Screaming
Screaming
With laughter
I see a strange sculpture that is mangled like a
Twisted
Soul
It is littered with one thousand words
They make it look like garbage to some
But it is pure art to me
Green
Yellow
And gold
Is all around
The world is at peace
And so am I

Great use of repetition, description, and color, to paint the image of what you feel. Great poem.
