Death of a Butterfly

by alex   Oct 8, 2006

Death of a Butterfly

shes itching to be somebody else, to escape from herself
skin rubbed raw by monotony
eyes dulled by conformity

shes dying to leave this shell behind, to flee from this mortal bind
smile broken by despair
heart in view and oh so bare

shes jumping at the chance to be seen, this not so unusual teen
lungs drowning in fear
ears blocking out what she hears

shes hoping that by giving in, shell have a life with a little sin
lips quivering to be touched
body shaking a little too much
