Two Roses

by 100Percent_inlove   Oct 8, 2006

My breath has come to a halt.
My soul knows not what to do.
For I received two beautiful roses today.
Both tender to the touch, but in different colors.

As the petals of each rub against my cheek,
I can feel the beauty of nature
sweetly aromatizing the air,
And each asking to be loved.

Two roses-one white, one red.
Each decorating the garden they grow in.
Each waving in the cool breeze,
But only one can be chosen.

Red is for love, passion, ardor, desire.
White for peace, tenderness, purity, innocence.
Why one? Why not both?
The garden will simply not allow it.

Both bloom sweating the dew of the sunrise.
Begging each to be considered and cared for.
"Love me, take me" they say.
"Not both, only one" says the garden.

For if a beggar asks for food,
he cannot expect a banquet.
If the beggar conforms, he will keep receiving.
But if he doesn't, the host will serve him only once.

Yet-both roses are beautiful to me.
Both are great in every way.
Will it be red? - Will it be white?
My hand will turn to dust before I decide.

Two roses - yelling for me to make my mind.
I do not consider it a curse, but unfortunate
it is to pick between two important elements.
Maybe I should pick a different color...
Maybe nothing at all...

Two roses I am in love with -
Two lovers for one heart -
