Bleh

by Bound, Gagged, and Blindfolded   Oct 9, 2006

We've been through so much
have caused each other pain
things we can't forget
reminders fall like rain

The scars will never heal
the wounds are much too deep
it doesn't matter what we feel
the steps are much too steep

We may long to be together
to feel each other's touch
but dreaming of a future
was asking for too much

We lost our only chance
a long, long time ago
clinging to the memory
just won't make it so

We can pretend it doesn't matter
but it will never change the day
it will never give us back
what we've already thrown away

Only if you're lucky
and only a chosen few
will share the kind of love
like the one I had with you

But it could never be
time would take its toll
life's pain slowly surfaced
it can break the strongest soul

It will always be there waiting
in the shadows of regret
time can change the season
but the seasons don't forget

We can't turn back the clock
or take back the fallen tears
we can't rewrite the pages
we've lost throughout the months

History always repeats
no one is to blame
faded is the ink
but the story remains the same

So many words have been unspoken
so much is left unsaid
the chapters have been written
the pages have been read

There will be no happy ending
a tragic tale it must be
there will be no kiss to break the spell
no magic will set us free

What fate brought together
our past has torn apart
blank pages go unwritten
from a story of the heart forever.
