Our Age

by Just Another Romantic   Oct 9, 2006

Have you seen the old tramp by the river
he lives alone in his plastic bags
everyone thinks he is a mess and ashamed
but no he is just a forgotton hero
a king in the mist was once a man of hopes
but now just a working man
with a dead end job
i think he is going go insane
as that 9-5 ain't right
that teenage girl who can't bleed
she has forgotton how to dream
i think maybe no one knows her pain
have you heard about that little girl she did all kinds of crazy stunts
she jumped and hoped to fly
she nearly died
but she said thats the closet thing to living
the closet thing to her heroes

and now i try to keep myself from going insane
wonder if i might be deja vu one day
i know i've got cross to bare these days
but doesn't everyone
it's such a god damn shame
but i'm taking the last train
before it starts a never ending rain
with a neverending pain
at least if i take the midnight train
that journey maybe going nowhere fast
but it's better than dealing with the pain

don't you think that the stars have lost their sparkle
the wine has lost its taste
i think it's just a waste
ain't nothing to hold on these days
just only us in this forever turning world
don't you think nothing seems to last
it's such a graceless age
nothing has no class
and everyones dream is out of reach
well time is going to fast
it looks like to me that love don;t last
it's losing to the world
where innocence has died in the fading past

only you and me left in this age
let's hope something's change
before you and me become nothing in this age
