What Did She Do?

by A Former Outcast   Oct 11, 2006

She sat in a cold dark corner,
Looking out at the world.
Her eyes betrayed her hatred,
Into a fist, her fingers curled.

The world had ruined her life,
Struck her, torn her apart.
The world had nothing left for her,
She was simply doomed from the start.

Her parents had died when she was young
From a sickness she could not explain.
Then her brother got sick and died,
And that's when she went insane.

What did she do to deserve all of this?
To deserve the pain she's been through?
What did she do to the world for this?
Who was there for her to go to?

She suffers quietly, a soul in pain,
Her dream world is inside her head.
She shuts out the pain, the anguish, the hate,
And she lives in the dream world instead.

She was very sick, and soon she died,
This girl who was dead in her heart.
Her face took on a smile, though,
Since after death there is a new start.

This poem makes me very sad. This is really the big reason I'd love it if the world would just give me this one hope, the hope of death. All I ever feel is that my dreams are all the love and company I have.
