Writers

A writer is more that a name on a book or the words on a page. A writer is an actual person who believed in themselves. Believed to the point when they were willing to share their values, morals, ideas, memories, and experience with the world. Even though they knew there would be people who would criticize and contradict every thing they said. I believe that choosing to be a writer over any other profession is the boldest thing a person can do. It says that they are telling the world that as much as people criticize them that they are strong enough to not let it knock them down. The writers of the world should be considered the real strongmen of the world not steroid influenced maniacs with muscles that are so gigantically huge that they can't bend over. I think people should applaud writers not freaks on wires, not fire and sword swallowers, not cliff jumpers, nor skydivers. Authors are the real daredevils, they are the ones that take the real leap, a leap of faith. Writers don't care about money and fame like celebrities do. Writers may not walk down the red carpet all the time and be on magazine covers every week, they aren't in every tabloid or on VH1 Behind The Music or The Drug Years. But 30 years from now how often do you think Paris Hilton will be quoted? How long will we remember Tom cruise jumping on Oprah's couch? How much time will pass before people forget about "Bradgelina"? On the world stage, who deserves the real standing ovation?
