Devil Walking

by Vered Richmond   Oct 12, 2006

The Devil go a walking in the middle of the night
He dragged her up to the highest cliff
To teach her how to fly
You can do it, he said, you can do it
But she didn't want to learn
And she didn't want to fly

The Devil came a calling in the middle of the night
It's time for your flying lessons, he said.
He took her up the same old path
She knew it so well
You are going to do it this time, he said
I know...you...will.

Tonight she felt fearful
Something was bound to happen
She did not want to sleep
in case there was a show
She did want to go with old Beelzebo.

I don't want your money, he said
I don't want your time
I'm just making the effort
To teach you how to fly.

Oh, help me someone, help me
I just don't want to fly,
But he just keeps turning up,
Like some regular guy.

He left her for a moment,
But not too long you know...
But just when she was getting
Comfortable
He popped up
the old devil.
