For The Last Time

by Becky   Oct 13, 2006

It comes
as I lie and wait

feeling a warm puddle
surround me

my breathe quickens
as your arm lashes out again
I feel the sweet, inviting sting
of the whip upon my raw flesh

your mouth twists into burning words
your breath deathly cold against my bleeding cheek

your words slice through my heart
like icy hot shards of a lovers picture dropped and shattered

why must it take so long
why must I wait

quicker the cruel blows come
my blood drains faster

no more waiting
the time has come
your hand strikes my face
then softly you kiss my hand

no more waiting
too late
your love has left it's mark again
for the last time
