Chalk

by PS   Oct 13, 2006

I am the chalk on that dark driveway,
drowned in the torents of rain.
the innocence of youth slowly
eased, slyly out of reach.

i am that dust that spoke of laughter
the endless games of nothing
that amused nonetheless

now i am gone,
gone from that memory
my memory, stained unperfect
nearly lost to the life of today.

Beautifully written. It reminds me of the old Kansas song, Dust in the Wind. Time just rolls on while the memories of our life turn to dust. Beautifully put.
