Rainbow Indigo

Broken Autumn leaves fall upon the road she takes,
The wind fades her wings away as she breaks.
Time traces goodbye, but the memory lingers,
Love won't tell her why, as her heart aches.

Falling in love with him was her mistake,
Offering a love he could not take.
Aesthetic dreams wisk away, fantasies decay,
Along with the things he could not say.

Her heart has been left open wide,
She prays he'll breathe light inside.

And...
A thousand tears later, she's still pretending.
Pretending that he really did love her, that he did not mean the things he said.
All that time wasn't really wasted, that everytime she cried, his heart bled.
A thousand tears later, she's still believing her own lies, she's still pretending.

It didn't take long before he had become her air,
And it didn't take long before every breath he took kept her waiting.
It didn't take long before she'd do anything not to care,
And it didn't take long before she had become addicted to waiting.

She became intoxicated, thought it was real,
Now it's taking everything left for her to heal.
It's taking everying and more to let go,
But for all the tears she still cries, he'll never know.

The scars on her heart were left open to bleed.
In the end, he was all she'd ever need.

And...
A thousand tears later, she's still pretending.
Pretending that he really did love her, that he didn't mean the things he said.
All that time wasn't really wasted, that everytime she cried, his heart bled.
A thousand tears later, she's still believing her own lies, she's still pretending.
