A poem for Danielle

by Gracie Danielle   Oct 19, 2006

Friday nights, slumber parties,
and Movies - Oh so scary.
Daniel, and the trampoline.
And wallets with strawberries.

Eating lunch with witches
and staying up all night
Playing chubby bunny
and watching some Joy Ride.

Singing Karaoke
Sleeping in the tent
Asking pointless questions
and venting just to vent.

Why is a tree a tree?
Why is the sky so blue?
Why are the sounds in the alphabet
the only ones we can do?

Getting chased by bees
while standing in my kitchen.
And dealing with Sarah Bradley
Who was always... Complaining.

Now were so much older,
and so much thinner too.
But I'm freaking glad
that I'm friends with you.

Singing in the backyard
and saving baby birds.
No matter how cool we are now
back then, we were nerds.

all the laughs, and all the tears, and the very angry words.
The things we did together
always seemed absurd.

Looking back I laugh
at the way we were
and I smile every time I hear
Savage Garden's "Crash and Burn"

You were there when my cat died
and when my mommy moved away
and through all the drama,
I can still count on you today.

Your smile makes me smile
and your tears make me cry.
Ill cherish all our memories
even after I die.

I want you at my wedding,
and at my second one, too.
I freaking love you, Danielle.
Id Freaking kill for you!
