Sounds of Nature

by Amnah   Oct 23, 2006

Have you ever heard
The sounds of nature?
Theyâ??re of many kinds
Associated with every creature.
So, let me tell you some
Youâ??re sure to enjoy
Because to hear such sounds
Is a matter of pure joy.
Have you ever heard
The dew when it slides
Down upon the slender stems
And leaves in their green hides?
Have you heard the whisper
Of leaves when they fall?
They quietly warn you of
An autumn thatâ??s coming after all.
Have you heard the rustle when
A squirrel moves across the ground?
Have you heard when it climbs on trees,
Making that slight tapping sound?
Have you heard the wind
When it blows upon your face?
Have you heard the sun
When it pours light on your face?
Have you heard the clouds
When they move in the sky?
Have you heard the rain
Falling down from so high?
Have you heard the sparrow
When she settles in her nest?
When she sits down, tired out,
When she sits down to rest?
Thatâ??s how it is.
We ignore most of this.
But Iâ??ll tell you one thing
Hearing this all is a bliss.
For when these things
These beautiful, melodious sounds
Are ignored for sometime
We see all around,
The love for nature vanishes
People do not see.
They forget whatâ??s it to hear
The sounds that are meant to be
So now try to hear these melodies
Whenever you get a chance.
Youâ??ll see the change in yourself.
And your love* is bound to enhance.
* of nature.
