Faceless Friend

by Hannah Emellia   Oct 23, 2006

It's sunny today,
The sun shines through the rain,
Chasing away every fear trapped in the hearts of our children,

It's cold today,
The icy shade colder Than death itself,
Chilling us through to the bone,
freezing our hearts and tears,

It's raining today,
Drops from heaven forever reminding us of loved ones lost,
let's loose the tears we tried so long and hard to hide.

I'm here today,
I'm here to comfort and to sooth,
to help and to forgive,
a faceless protector no one has the time to name.

It's a bit unique. Not really one of my faves but it had this distinct style to it. Something about it drew my attention though. I did like the repetition of "today" it added something to it. Not the best but nicely done.
