Complicated relationship

I liked you for a while,
and I thought you felt the same.
So when I asked who you liked,
I was thrilled to hear my name.

Suddenly there was this other girl,
that nobody knew.
I was very upset to hear,
that she was with you.

When you two were over,
I was sure next would be me.
But I was once more crushed,
when another girl I did see.

Then some time passed,
and you liked my friend.
But you hurt her so bad,
I knew it was the end.

And then even more time passed,
all my friends hated you.
Until one day you talked to me,
and confessed what was true.

Telling me what really happened,
and not some made up lie,
made me and you so very close,
and made me want to cry.

I knew in my heart I loved you again,
but no one would understand.
Because after everything happened,
among my friends, you were banned.

You are always in my mind,
and I think of you every day.
But I think there is one thing,
that is left to say.

We are meant for each other,
And I need to be with you.
But because of what you did,
I can never be with you.
