The Death of 3

by Clonjey   Oct 25, 2006

You awaken to a scream, a sound of torment.
You thought it was in your dream, in your one story apartment.
But as you rise, your eyes widen at the bed beside you.
Your heart is pounding; there is fear all inside you.
For on the covers of your sister's bed,
You see stain marks, the color of red.
You are afraid to check, but yes, she's dead.
You begin to cry, and return the covers to her head.
The moon shines in front of you as if you were to blame.
And you cry on, not concealing your shame.
You cry out: "If I knew who did this, just knew his name".
It is then you see a shadow outside your room.
Could this be the bearer of your sister's doom?
Before you leave, out of your drawer you pull out a dagger.
The blade shines in the dark and out the room you stagger.
You race out to apprehend the savage who made you cry.
The savage who made your beloved sister die.
You run after the figure down the hall.
But you do not see the murderer's face at all.
However, you do hear his steps and the echoes that follow.
So you run in pursuit as your sadness makes you wallow.
Through the tears you can barely see.
Where is the murderer, where could he be?
To restore your sister's life, you would throw your whole life away,
You begin to near the very end of the last hallway.
In your head you have the whole apartment building mapped.
Once you reach the end, the killer would be trapped.
Your heart begins to pound harder and harder with every stride.
It's dark, but you use the darkness in your heart as a guide.
As you reach the end, you look around with great anticipation.
But there is nothing there, no sign of animation.
You're sweating, heart still pounding and you quickly grab for the light.
As the hall is illuminated, there is only one thing in sight.
You look forward and focus your eyes,
And it is then you begin to realize.
You recognize the face that gives you a leer,
And you grab your heart as you stare in the mirror.

You never thought... but then again you always knew.
The killer; the murderer; the lover; it was all you.
Since the first time you were brought in this world by birth.
There was no way these two entities could stay inside you, on earth.
After realizing this you fall rapidly down.
As your minds fight, you're kneeling on the ground.
And after your mental battle rooted from within your souls,
You come up with the only solution to match your goals.
Your good wanting to destroy the evil forever, still.
Your bad longing for only one more chance to kill.
You turn your dagger around towards you,
And that's the end, that's it, you're through.
