Flying Into An Endless Sky

by Jenni   Oct 25, 2006

& So you want to say we are not one,
This is but my steady heart beating.
& you say you want to get out, so run,
Because I know why you are leaving.
You want an escape, so escape me,
Love was the excuse that kept you here.
The chocolate says we're not meant to be,
So get your car and kick it in gear.
You have forgotten your clothes an cologne,
So I threw them outside your old door.
I have nothing that I can call my own,
You are officially mine no more.
I was sure you were only for my eyes,
and that only I was meant for you.
But, something went wrong, you were not wise,
and you are leaving for someone new.
So you can't unbreak what has been broken,
The time flew right outside the window.
You can't take back hurt words that were spoken,
It was time for us to just let go.

    The opening was fantastic!
It pulled me right into the poem.
I loved the imagery and flow in this, and the wording was a joy to read.
