What classifies Faith?

by Jacob M Parnell   Oct 25, 2006

What classifies Faith?
In the world in which we strive.
In an outspoken society.
Will faith help us survive?

Is faith only religious?
Can the non believers have it too?
Can you still hang on to faith.
If god doesn't reach out to you?

I don't believe in Heaven.
Neither do I believe in Hell.
Its been like this since I was seven.
Therefore, can I not excel?

What classifies religion.
And the people who claim they follow.
Yet they sin more than I do.
And they still find a way to swallow.

They say I wont make the afterlife.
They say It cannot be done.
That heaven doesn't allow the agnostic.
Heaven would only shun.

Well doesn't that go against God?
Saying that he is all forgiving?
Haven't you read up on your religion.
Do you not know, your own standard of living?

The bible has great stories, yes.
But can you really believe all of them true.
The first two pages contradict each-other.
Doesn't anyone find this askew.

I'm not bashing your religion.
Faith is what I'm after.
If you claim to believe.
Look beyond hereafter.

Don't make false claims.
Tell me I'm bound for Hell.
Don't rely only on faith.
I'm only asking you to dwell.

Dwell on your religion.
You must learn before you can critique.
If there is truth in what you practice.
Your life will not be unpleasant and bleak.

Faith is a wonderful thing.
But a life isn't something to waste.
Find out who you are, find your own religion.
Don't allow yourself to be placed.

Don't live with regret.
Remember, you only live once.
Don't live in fear of not making it to heaven.
Don't end up being the dunce...
