Limits

by Caroline Elise   Oct 25, 2006

Limits. Why do we set them? We always complain about them yet we continue to create them. They keep us from moving forward. They create boundaries. We want freedom and yet we put things in our way, we create roadblocks and obstacles. Things we want to overcome so much but cant. we work so hard to break down the walls weve built. People always wish life was like the Daytona 500, no limits, you just go as fast as you can and nothing can stop you, all you have to do is follow the asphalt, continuing forever in the same never-ending loop. But life is like the highways and cross streets with stop lights and almost endless possibilities, but limits. Yes, you can crash in either. But when you are going 600 miles per hour its a lot more dangerous than crashing in a parking lot. Thats why when people crash on the highways or on the street and die its a much bigger deal than if they were a NASCAR driver. In races youre destined to crash, people expect it, people bet on it. But the streets are supposed to be safe. People always say they want to live life on the edge, no limits, or they scream to the skies, "NO ONE CAN STOP ME NOW!" Thats always what they say... before the crash. Before the finale. They dont get an encore, The show stops there. So limits, in a way, save us, they keep us longer. From withering away, from destroying ourselves, they are our safety net. So why dont we want it to catch us if we fall?
