Serenade

by Roland Amaranto   Oct 26, 2006

You came amidst,
The dark descending cold
I rise up my head,
Witness the changes unfold
And there it was,
The sanctuary of my heart
A raging storm,
And your light tore it apart
Your warm hand that held me,
Turned my graying into life
Lifted me away,
From doubts and self strife
I saw your face,
It was like a new morning
Calm and serene,
A relief that stops my crying
Soft and subtle you are,
An embrace that defy agony
You are my heaven,
Where I could rest in serenity

And never will I wish,
Or want for you to leave
If it is so,
Then my soul shall grieve
And I beg my fate,
Just for you to be beside
And swore shall I,
Forever be yours to abide
I’ll give nothing more to you,
But only love and loyalty
A solemn vow,
Of honesty and sincerity.
